The descendants of Chinese nationals from various Prefectures of the Province of Fujian (Hokien) in southern China who arrived and settled in the various parts of Terengganu from the period of the 14th to the 17th century. This ethnic group of ninth to eleventh generations of descendants have blended into the local Malay culture, cuisine and lifestyle while maintaining their Chinese heritage. They are the Chinese Peranakan of Terengganu.
